Slack workflows built around your business.

Bring requests, decisions and updates into the place your team talks. We design Slack apps and integrations around your processes, your systems and the people responsible for the work.

What is Slack?

Slack is a workplace communication platform. Teams organise conversations in channels for a department, project or topic, share files, and use direct messages for smaller discussions. It runs on desktop and mobile.

A channel keeps the conversation together.
A purchasing channel, for example, gives a team a shared place to discuss requests and see relevant updates. Channel access should match who is allowed to see the information.
An app connects the conversation to a system.
A Slack app can provide a form, a button, a notification or an assistant. An integration connects those interactions to another tool, such as your customer database or purchasing system.
A workflow gives the work a defined path.
A request starts the process. Rules decide where it goes. The right person reviews it, the result is recorded, and the requester receives an update.

When conversation needs a next step.

A message can ask for a decision. A workflow makes the owner, the next action and the outcome explicit.

The frictionWhat a workflow changes
Requests arrive with missing information.Collect the required details in a consistent form before routing the request.
People keep asking who should approve.Route work by amount, team or another agreed rule, with a named person responsible.
An approval stays buried in a conversation.Record the decision in the agreed business system and link it back to the request.
A failed hand-off goes unnoticed.Show a pending or failed status, notify the owner and provide a recovery path.

Does your company need Slack?

Slack is worth considering when teams need a shared place for ongoing work and are willing to use it consistently. If your team already works effectively in another platform, start by checking what that platform can do. We assess the process and adoption effort before recommending a new tool.

The strongest starting point is one recurring process with a clear owner, frequent hand-offs and an outcome you can measure.

Try a purchase approval.

Follow one request from an employee to a recorded outcome. Change the purchase to see how an approval rule changes the path.

Interactive simulation. Fictional requests; no Slack messages, purchases or business records are created.

Sample rule: manager approval for every request; finance approval above KWD 500.

Read the workflow, step by step
  1. Employee submits

An employee requests a laptop costing KWD 650. The request includes an item, amount and business reason.

  2. Manager reviews

The manager checks the need and approves or declines. A decline closes the request and informs the employee.

  3. Finance reviews

Because KWD 650 is above the sample KWD 500 threshold, finance reviews it next. A KWD 120 supplies request would finish after manager approval.

  4. The outcome is recorded

When all required approvals are complete, the workflow records the outcome and notifies the employee. Approval authorises the next purchasing step; it does not make a payment.

What changes in a real implementation?

Employees use Slack forms and messages. Only authorised approvers can act. We connect the agreed purchasing system, confirm that it accepted each update, and handle failed writes before reporting success. Your organisation sets the approval rules, permissions and retention policy.

The service starts with your process.

We first check whether Slack's built-in Workflow Builder or an existing app can meet the need. Custom development is useful when your process needs additional rules, connections or controls.

Workflow design
Map the request, required information, approval rules, exception paths and person responsible for each step.
Custom apps and integrations
Connect Slack to the systems you approve, where their APIs and permissions allow it. Keep the agreed business system as the authoritative record.
Knowledge and AI, where useful
Consider Arabic and English document search or assistance when it adds value. Define source access, answer checks and human review separately from ordinary approval automation.
Deployment and ongoing care
Agree hosting, monitoring, documentation, training and support, including who handles failed runs and future changes.

Designed for the responsibilities of a company.

An enterprise workflow needs an owner, a controlled scope and a way to recover when something fails. We agree these requirements before the build.

Access and responsibility
Define who can submit, view and approve. Use the minimum necessary app permissions and agree installation with your Slack administrator.
Data and hosting
Document what passes through Slack, the app and any connected provider, where it is processed, and how long it is retained. App hosting alone does not determine where Slack handles data.
Decision history
Record the agreed evidence: who acted, what they decided and when. Set the retention and access rules for that record.
Reliable execution
Plan for duplicate clicks, unavailable systems, retries and escalation. A request should only show completion after the required system confirms the update.
Ownership after launch
Name the business owner and support contact. Agree monitoring, incident handling, source-code handover and maintenance responsibilities.

Start with one useful workflow.

  1. Define the outcome

Choose one recurring process. Map the current effort, systems, owners and a measurable acceptance criterion.

  2. Build and test a pilot

Use agreed sample data to test the normal path, permissions, declined requests and failures with the people who will use it.

  3. Launch with an owner

Roll out to the agreed group, document operation and support, and review actual use before expanding.

Each proposal sets out the workflow, integrations, acceptance criteria, delivery responsibilities and support terms. Slack subscriptions, hosting and any AI-provider usage are identified separately.

Practical questions.

Do we need to be using Slack already?

Existing Slack teams are the clearest fit. If you are new to Slack, we start by considering adoption, administration and subscription requirements alongside the workflow. We can also assess whether your current platform is sufficient.

Why not use Workflow Builder?

You may be able to. Slack's Workflow Builder offers automation and connectors on paid plans. We start there when it fits and scope custom development when your business rules or system connections need more.

Is every workflow an AI agent?

No. Purchase approvals can follow ordinary rules. AI is optional and should have a specific purpose, agreed permissions and review requirements.

Can the workflow support Arabic and English?

We can scope Arabic and English app messages, forms and knowledge content. That is separate from the languages supported by Slack's own interface.

Does MENA provide Slack itself?

Slack is a separate platform with its own plans and terms. MENA's service covers the agreed workflow, custom app and integrations. We can include hosting and support for the custom app in the proposal.

How much does a custom workflow cost?

The cost depends on the process, number and condition of integrations, approval rules, data requirements and support scope. We define a pilot and provide a scoped proposal before implementation.
